Corrective and Realignment Jaw Surgery
Orthognathic surgery is corrective jaw surgery which is performed to correct major and minor skeletal and dental irregularities. Surgery can help improve chewing, speaking, and even breathing. This surgery can dramatically alter the patient’s appearance in a positive way, but is performed to improve and correct functional problems.
In the management of skeletal and dental irregularities, we work closely with your restorative dentist and orthodontist to provide a team approach to your care. This treatment will most often require orthodontics before and after surgery. The treatment time is typically 18-24 months and is a long-term commitment for you and your family.
